Olympian Tara Lipinski Welcomes Baby Via Surrogate

Skate on over to meet Tara Lipinski's new family member.

The Olympian confirmed that she and husband Todd Kapostasy recently welcomed a baby via surrogate.

"I dreamt about this for so long," Tara told People about their newborn daughter Georgie in an interview published Octคำพูดจาก ปั่นสล็อตแตกทุกเกม. 25, going on to express her excitement over becoming a mom. "A crying baby, sleepless nights. Even when I'm like, 'Okay, take an hour nap,' I'm almost too excited. I'm like, 'She's there. Just watch her a little longer."

The little one's arrival comes just weeks after the couple, who wed in 2017, announced a baby was on the way during an episode of their podcast Unexpecting.

However, the road to parenthood hasn't been easy for Tara and Todd, who've previously spoken about their infertility journey.

"My husband and I have seemingly hit every roadblock imaginable from the moment we began this process in 2018 and since then I have been under anesthesia 24 times, have had 4 miscarriages, 4 D&C's, 6 failed IVF transfers, 8 retrievals and a diagnosis of endometriosis that led me to 2 major surgeries," the gold medalist wrote in part of an August Instagram post. "It has been an excruciatingly painful journey that has been filled with loss & dealing with the grief that comes along with that."

Ultimately, Tara and Todd decided to pursue another option to grow their family and turned to surrogacy.

"I think it was just a match made in heaven," the figure skater said about her bond with her surrogate on the Oct. 5 episode of their podcast. "I think it's really sweet. She has always been so aware of our journey, so kind and thoughtful and always trying to find ways to put me at ease."

And she's expressed her hope that sharing their story will help others.

"For me, as someone who has experienced pregnancy 4 times, I've felt more connected through this surrogacy pregnancy than any other," Tara wrote in part of an Oct. 19 Instagram post. "These positive stories should be spoken about and I hope more of these conversations happen because the amount of messages I've received from women feeling relieved or now optimistic about potential surrogacy has been overwhelming."

She added, "This silent subject is still so misunderstood. I wish I knew or heard more when I was on this grueling 5 year journey because I would have saved myself a lot worry and possibly time."
